PARADE SEASON (Update #3)

Hello.
Want to give you a quick update on PARADE SEASON.

Writing is on track well for the most part. Don't get me wrong I am still writing but I do believe that my two month hiatus from writing has taken its toll on me. However, it has not gotten the better of me. I feel that I can overcome this writing slowdown I am currently experiencing.

Moving on. If you remember in book #1 "DOUGHBOY CITY" the cover image of Doughboy City was graciously allowed to be used by my good friend Charles R. Sledge (author of The Batter's Out (Baseball Training Manual): How to Play Defense: For Parents, Coaches, and Kids).

Now I am calling out to everyone that has an image of Platz des 4.Juli (Four Ring) and the Clock tower at McNair. If you would like to submit that image for possible inclusion in the cover of the book, please do so.

However, the following is not negotiable:
1. You took the photograph
2. You own the rights to that image
3. Your image must NOT include clear human faces
4. You are willing to submit your image without any financial compensation.
5. If selected, you and your image will be given full credit

PARADE SEASON (Update #2)

Hello again,
Just a brief message to pass along how things are progressing.

The writing continues to move right along. So far the characters are starting to slowly enter the storyline and the story itself seems to be moving in a positive direction. I don't want to get too much into it, now. Therefore, I will stop here.

I will have more information to pass along on the next update.

In the meantime, here's a little something from the upcoming "Parade Season" by David G. Guerra.

A little background on what you are about to read. The main character is walking back to his barracks with some buddies. A couple of days after this walk, his first Parade practice will take place. At this point his thoughts of Parade Season are of what he has heard from others but has yet to experience for himself.

"Minutes later, we come to the spot where Osteweg meets the Four Ring.

There it is: the Clock Tower. The Clock Tower and an empty asphalt parade field that will soon be filled with soldiers, artillery pieces, tanks, and whatever else participates during these military parades. 

I should clarify, these parades are little different from those back home. There are no floats, no pretty girls riding on top of Corvettes. However, from what I have heard there is a marching band and clowns. Lots and lots of clowns.

However, by Monday morning I should know just how much of a clown the clowns really are."

PARADE SEASON (update #1)

Good Day All

How is your new year going? So far so good I hope?

Just want to give you a brief update on how the writing process for PARADE SEASON is going.

The outline of the story is complete.
The draft is about 20% complete.

As soon as the draft is complete then I begin working on the revision before I send it to get it edited.
Then another revision, followed by another round of edits, then depending if things look good I begin the final revision.

However, all of this is subject to change but I doubt it.

Happy New Year! 2015!

Today, we turn the page on the calendar. A new year! A new age! A new change!

Today, we  look forward to the new future the next 12 months will bring us.

Today, I start a new journey. Today, I formally begin writing book #4 in the Occupied Berlin series: "PARADE SEASON"

The story is set during the Spring and Summer months in West Berlin when the members of the Berlin Brigade would press their uniforms, spit shine their boots, polish their brass, and baby oil their vehicles to parade with the British & French Allies on Straße des 17. Juni (from the Brandenburg Gate to the Victory Column) and on their own at the famous 4 Ring or 4th of July Platz (just outside McNair Barracks).

Without giving away too much of the story I will say that the topic centers on an outcome of one of those relationships that many of the G.I.'s in West Berlin and West Germany were warned about.

I will reveal more as I get underway.

In the meantime, I do not want to get this new year started on the wrong foot.

Therefore,  I do wish you a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR and a VERY SUCCESSFUL 2015!
