AIR BRIDGE BERLIN (are you ready?)

This is it. The last weekend before AIR BRIDGE BERLIN launches.

Air Bridge Berlin is a story set in 1948 in western Berlin, Germany. The Soviets wanted the US, French, and British out of Berlin and they were going to do what it took to get them out of the city. The Soviets went as far as closing the road, rail, and water access in and out of the western sectors of Berlin.  This meant that the Soviets had no problem starving and freezing the citizens of the American, British, and French sectors of Berlin. The Soviets planned on the western Allies packing up and leaving, if only to spare the lives of the innocent Berliners.

The United States initiated Operation Vittles. It was the plan to resupply by air. There were three air corridors, in and out of Berlin, that the Soviets could not touch. They could not touch them because it was the Soviet's idea to create the air corridors. While cargo such as Food, Medicine, and Fuel was flown in, there was a clandestine operation to fly high value individuals back to the west, in the empty cargo planes, before the Russians could get to them.

The story follows a young GI working Guard Duty meets a young Berliner who goes to Tempelhof Airport, just about every day to try to catch a candy-laden parachute from one of the numerous Candy Bombers. One day that young Berliner sees something that is not right and proceeds to rally his friend, the Infantryman, to see what they can do before someone that should not be going out on one of those high value flights makes it to the west.

History is unfolding all around the characters in Air Bridge Berlin as this story picks up speed and tells you a story that may or may not have happened during the Berlin Airlift. You will have to decide for yourself.
