April 9, 2016: Checking In On You!

Howdy,
Hope you are enjoying the Spring. I know I have. It has been a very nice and mild season here in Deep South Texas. As it has been nice and mild it also means that ALLERGIES have been having a field day with my sinuses and eyes.

It may be that we did not have a good winter. The temps never got down to freezing or near freezing for any extended period and caused our trees to not shut down for the winter. As a matter of fact, the Mexican Bird of Paradise we have in the front yard was showing signs of new growth in late January and that's not a good thing.

The only good thing about having a mild winter and spring is that we get to spend more time outside. Unfortunately, the flip side of being outside so much, I have not been banging on the keys as much as I should have. However, I have a great start to the next story and the rough draft of the first chapter is done.

I have a few things that I must do this weekend but I have built in time to write some. Hopefully, the rough of chapter two will be completed. Then on to #3.

For those of you wondering, I do have the outline & timeline complete. Having those two things under control helps make the process go a little easier. However, all that is moot if I don't get my backside in my chair and get back to writing.

Hello,
It has been a pretty hectic couple of weeks but PARADE SEASON has finally seen the light of day!

That's right PARADE SEASON is out now. I have been head down on this project since my last post and it has finally been released.

The story is set in 1985 West Berlin during the famous or infamous Parade Season. Covering several parades during the Spring and Summer, PFC David Gutierrez and his three buddies set out to survive parade season and all the barracks mayhem that ensues plus a little intrigue that only US Infantrymen can get themselves into there in the divided city.

Hello.
Here I am again. Checking in and I do hope you are in good health.
Writing, I am happy to report, is well underway and looking better than ever. It seems that I have regained my writing ambition. That's a very good thing.

The story is coming along and the end is in sight. It is like a light at the end of a long and very curvy tunnel.

I will keep this brief. I just wanted you to know that I am thinking about you.

August 2015 (where has Summer gone?)

Hello,
I know it has been another long while since I last posted. I am still thinking about you and I do appreciate you taking the time to visit my blog.

I am still working on PARADE SEASON. It is taking a little longer than I anticipated to finish but that's alright I am liking what is going on with the story. I hope you will like it.

Right now, in the story we are halfway through parade season and our main characters are busy marching, staying sober, not partying too much and mentoring the young soldiers. However, (as always) in the background looms the constant specter that is the Soviets and their way of doing business.

I will be posting an excerpt in my next post. In the meantime, I sure would love to hear from you. Please leave a comment or drop me an email at dave@daveguerra.com
